Seth & Kerri are one of my upcoming wedding couples.  I cannot express how excited I am to take their pictures in June!  We met at the Omaha Bridal Show, and I was stoked when they decided to book me that day.  Well, they ended up being my winners for the free engagement session, too!  I was excited since I knew our styles really complimented each other, and they are such a relaxed and easy going couple.  I can’t wait for June to photograph their vintage inspired wedding!  Now, let me introduce you to Kerri & Seth (the stud in the glasses), and their awesome Geo Metro. Gotta love that bumper sticker, too.  “Reading is Sexy”  What is there not to love about these two!!

This engagement session was really laid back and chill.  I had an enjoyable morning getting to know Paul and Jessica.  Paul was on military leave for a bit, so it was nice to get to meet him and see them together as a couple.  I learned a little more about their upcoming wedding, and let me just say I cannot wait!  It’s going to be at one of the big casinos in Council Bluffs, and I have to say that’s a first for me.  Apparently there is a GIANT American flag that they are really excited about.  The whole thing just sounds fun.  Not to mention Paul will be wearing his Marines uniform.  DREAM COME TRUE for me.  I’ve ALWAYS wanted to shoot a Marine wedding, so I’m excited there wedding is coming up soon!

{Jake & Amanda} Offut Airforce Base Military Ball Portraits

April 1st, 2012

I’m just going to start off by saying this is one of the most romantic shoots I have ever done.  Maybe it’s the uniform, because let’s be honest, what girl doesn’t swoon at a military uniform?!  Or maybe it’s because these two are already married and usually I’m taking pictures of engaged or newlywed couples. But I just absolutely loved working with Jake & Amanda.  Because Jake is in the Air Force, they are invited to attend the Military Ball every year.  This was their first year attending, and since they are “newer weds,” Amanda asked me if I could take some fancy pictures of them all dolled up.  I was so excited when she asked because I’ve ALWAYS wanted to take pictures of someone in uniform.  (I’m so excited for all my weddings coming up in the next year with military grooms!)  We headed down to Offut Airforce Base where there was a beautiful open area with trees in bloom.  Despite the wind, we had a quick and great shoot.  Not only did I leave happy with their shoot, but I also left with new friends.
Jake and Amanda – Thank YOU for letting me be a part of your beautiful night.  I hope you were able to dance the night away and enjoy being together!

One thing I love about going back to Utah for short visits is that I always get to take pictures on my trips.  Inevitably, someone I know will want pictures when I’m home, and I love it!  I love shooting in my home state.  I love shooting where photography really became on of my passions.  And I especially love taking pictures of family.  Ashley was no different for me.  I was really excited that it worked out for me to be there to take her Senior Portraits.  Ashley is one of my cute step-cousins, and I really enjoyed spending a little more time with her during the shoot and getting to know her more.  To add to the excitement of having her Seniors done that day, she also found out she received a substantial scholarship to the college she will be attending in the fall!  Way to go, Ashley, and I can’t wait to see what the future holds for you!
