Dayton + Megan || Big Cottonwood Canyon Engagements

January 20th, 2017

I loved this shoot up Big Cottonwood Canyon with Dayton and Megan! I’m not too familiar with the area (read: not at all), so we literally just kind of decided to wing it for locations and just head up the canyon in search of good spots! It really came down to shooting wherever we could actually park the car.  Although, we did get stuck at the last location for a hot minute…. totally worth it. A blizzard started towards the end of our session, but those pictures ended up being my favorite.  Dayton may have ended up up to his waist in snow getting them.  (How excited is everyone getting to book a session with me right now?!…. stuck cars, snow up to your waist….) It really was a fun day, and I’m already looking forward to my next shoot with these two!

Oh, I live for sessions like these! I met Scott back when he was “Elder Harris” on his mission in Omaha. We LOVED having the missionaries over to our tiny apartment for dinner, sometimes multiple times a week.  Scott was one of those missionaries who we just enjoyed getting to know. He’s such a positive person, kind, and was a hard working missionary.

Alex and Scott and literally perfect together.  After the session, they came back to my house to chat for a bit with my husband and me.  I got to know Alex a little more, and I couldn’t be happier that they found each other… again! They initially met on their mission, although we never met Alex while she was in Omaha. After a snapchat “happy birthday” message years after getting home from their missions, the rest became history! It was so clear that Alex loves the protection and love she feels from Scott.  And Scott just adores Alex.  I am so happy these two found each other.  I can’t wait to see them married in a couple months!! I was telling them that as a photographer, I look forward to taking pictures of certain events.  My siblings’ weddings for example.  And getting to work with these two for these engagements and again on their wedding day are definitely events that remind me how grateful I am to have the job I have!

Claire || Utah Baptism Photographer

January 14th, 2017

When my mom married my step-dad almost 9 1/2 years ago, I became part of this wonderful family! One of my first memories of the Frampton family was how happy everyone was that Caytie was pregnant with a little girl.  And that little girl, Claire, is now turning 8! One of my first memories of the Frampton family was how happy everyone was that Caytie was pregnant with a little girl.  And that little girl, Claire, is now turning 8! Claire is probably the best big sister in the world.  She’s sweet and funny.  And is an amazing artist.  (Click to see her artwork for sale!)  I was so excited when Caytie called and asked me to do Claire’s baptism pictures.  These sessions are some of my favorite to shoot, and I’m always super excited to do them! Claire had a perfect floral crown from Lavender and Lime to add some color to an otherwise very white January.  She looked so beautiful, and I’m excited for her decision to be baptized soon! Love you, Claire!

D Family || Old Rock Church || Logan, Utah Photographer

Christmas break was so busy this season with extended families! This adorable family was one of them. Vicky booked the Old Rock Church for the session to make sure no one was too cold…. but we went outside for the individual families anyway. Christmas break was so busy this season with extended families! This adorable family was one of them. Vicky booked the Old Rock Church for the session to make sure no one was too cold…. but we went outside for the individual families anyway. (I am definitely a natural light photographer, and prefer the outside! But we can make inside work, too!!) My favorite shots from this session are all the little groupings of the cousins who are the same age. Apparently the kids came in groups in this family!
